My name is André Czernia and I live near Cologne. I started photography because I wanted to capture memories. Over the years, it has become a passion—and a conscious counterpoint to everyday life: slowing down, looking more closely, arriving in the moment.
I am particularly fascinated by the traces of change: how time and use alter things, how structures carry stories within them, and how transitions reveal themselves in details that are easy to overlook. I seek less the spectacular than atmosphere, less postcard motifs than places and situations that quietly reveal what lies beneath the surface. My photography moves between street and landscape, between human presence and the structures we create.
I photograph as an ambitious amateur and appreciate the freedom to experiment, learn, and develop ideas—without having to provide ready-made answers. I share my work here and on Instagram at @shutteronstreet.
